The French and Francophone Studies Graduate Organization (FFGO) at The Pennsylvania State University works primarily to maintain and enhance the quality of education for its graduate students. The FFGO is a department-level organization that acts as the official liaison between the graduate students and faculty of the French and Francophone Studies Department. It strives to provide a voice for the students, facilitating and promoting communication on numerous issues between them and the faculty and administrative body. The organization includes all graduate students of the Penn State French and Francophone Studies Department.
Its executive committee, who galvanizes this voice and holds open executive meetings regularly during the academic year, is comprised of five student members and one faculty member. FFGO also holds plenary meetings bi-annually (once in the fall and again in the spring) where all graduate students discuss and vote on several issues as well as hold officer elections. Communication continues throughout the semester via electronic mail, posted meeting minutes, monthly calendars and flyers. All students are encouraged to actively participate in FFGO.
