Professional Bio
Irene is a PhD student from Kenya in the dual French and Francophone Studies and African Studies program. Irene’s research interests include; African Francophone Literatures, the study of trauma in children affected by civil war in Africa, identity politics and postcolonial theory. Prior to coming to Penn State, Irene taught English in the Université de Tours in France.
