Theresa Brock

Theresa Brock is a 2017 PhD recipient and a 2017-2018 post-doc. Her dissertation examines the intersections of gender, genre, knowledge, and theology in Marguerite de Navarre’s Heptaméron to account for the tensions between the ideals and realities of gender relations in the text. Her research interests include early modern French literature, gender and genre studies, feminist epistemologies, reception theories, and the religious landscape of early modern France. Having obtained certification in French education before pursuing the PhD, Theresa maintains a strong commitment to second language pedagogy and served as the French coordinator for Penn State’s Intensive Language Institute in summer 2016.
